Marketing with Twitter, LinkedIn, and More

I don't think Twitter is best for a small business unless they have a current following. Twitter is filled with so much political comments, funny comments, and short snippets from other sites, I think that it might be a waste. However, if you can drive a following on Twitter then it would be a good way to market. From what I have found most companies just cross-post and do the same posts on all platforms which include Twitter.       Twitter I find is best for personal use, and get updates from larger companies on their most recent happenings. From time to time, you will see a tweet that has gained a lot of traction. Once a tweet gets a lot of traction, then someone might say "Hey, come check out my (name of product here) and come to my website. That could be best for a small business.  As the "Mention" article states first decide what you want to accomplish on Twitter. Once that is established you can have a better idea of your outcome. Twitt...

Week 10 Part 10 Newsletters Email Marketing

I get newsletters from companies all the time! I often find them annoying and hate to see them, that is why I have several different email addresses. I even have one for junk mail. For this assignment I used my junk email address to research the types of newsletters that I get.  Some companies send news letters everyday, twice a week, twice a month and once a month. I would choose twice a month and once a month. The twice a month newsletters would go to potential clients who are thinking about using my services and once a month to clients who have actually used my services. I would chose that amount, so that my newsletters had quality and good information in them. I have seen newsletters that aren't really talking about anything and end up taking space in my inbox.  My newsletter would focus on any new projects that I am working on and maybe what type of sound clients have wanted for the month.  My newsletters could have the following topics.  Thanking new incoming c...

Blog Post Types Categories

If I had to pick a type of category I would chose personal and serious. I would pick both to appeal to two difference types of people. In voiceovers there are multiple fields  a voice actor can do. The fields I am interested in are narration, audio books , e-learning, commercial, and animation. All of those require different types of writing.  If started started a blog I would use categories relating to how companies could benefit from having a voice. I would also post my voice as well, so clients could hear the versatility and range. All the posts would be voice related around the categories that I listed above. I would also showcase clients if they allowed me so people could see the types of projects that I work on through my business.

Blogging

A personal touch style of writing can add a lot of fun to a blog. When people are looking for answers online they want things to sound personable and relatable. Consumers go online looking for answers, it is usually in a casual capacity and not in a research academic state of mind. When posts are personal people stop and listen and review. Consumers are saying in their heads, hey I get it I agree with them, this company/person is just like me.  It makes sense to add a personal touch to a blog when someone is telling a funny store or explaining a frustration that had a good outcome. It is not a good idea to add a funny touch that ha a bad outcome, if it does the outcome would need to have a sliver linings to it. When discussing serious topics it is best to stick with the facts. Serious topics include death, or death protocol. That is not the time to be funny.  Having a personal tone and serious tone in my business would work. Typically vo...

Instagram Hashtags

I like to post on Instagram, but this week got away from me with medical issues. #tired #family #kids #noexcuses I posted three times on the same night, which won't do much help to my followers and owing a business. I have learned from this experience that social media takes a lot of work and time management. Luckily, if one dives into facebook and instagram they try to make it easy to post when needed. you can set up timied posts and target your audience at different times. I have learned that moving forward I would have to set up days in advance three posts a day. One in the morning, afternoon, and lat evenings. I would do these different times because I would be targeting different people. As some people are morning, night owls, etc. My posts would have been more effective if I spread them out over the past week. This would have been the most effective use of the scheulded posting feature. Posting directly from Facebook is one of the best options as for me it is easier to work ...
