Final Blog Post

 Oh No! I felt like I disappeared for a little bit. being sick can take you out and it did. I haven't been sick for over a year and can you believe the surprise when I was laid up in and wanted to sit in pure darkness for weeks. 

Well, I am here and I am trying to finish up what I can. This class has been interesting, I got to learn about people's experiences online and new businesses. I stepped out of my comfort zone for sure and well that was fun. 

My social media usage has changed, I never thought I would go back to Facebook. I did, briefly, it is nice to have my business there, but it is still new and growing. I just don't like what Facebook has become, so I may not keep the page there. I have used Instagram for my business, I never thought I would need it, but I have found some good connections there. I was surprised when a few people reached out to me about voiceovers. That was exciting and I plan to see what comes of it, even though Instagram is owned by Meta (Facebook). As I stated som,e some growth, but definitely connections, once finals are over I can pursue them a bit more. 

Will I be using social media more for my own life? Not so much, but I believe it is a great asset to a business. I could with full understanding start a social media page for a business and feel that I could make it successful, I plan on doing that with my business although still in its infancy. It is a work in progress. Social Media is a great place to find something that you are looking for, this holiday season, I went to Instagram looking for gifts ideas. Lots of ideas to find and new things. I will be looking at social media with a sharper eye of understanding. 

This class has definitely given me the confidence to write my own blog. I have my own family blog and webpage. I am going to go back and explore that and see if I can drive more traffic to it. This class has encouraged me to write more and be a bit more focused in my blog writing. I feel that I could write and someone might read it, enjoy it, and realize that they too are going through the same thing as me and my family.

A personal touch style of writing can add a lot of fun to a blog. When people are looking for answers online they want things to sound personable and relatable. Consumers go online looking for answers, it is usually in a casual capacity and not in a research academic state of mind. When posts are personal people stop and listen and review. Consumers are saying in their heads, hey I get it I agree with them, this company/person is just like me.  It makes sense to add a personal touch to a blog when someone is telling a funny store or explaining a frustration that had a good outcome.  Analyzing Social Media Business Usage 1. Warby Parker   Website: www.warbyparker.com  Warby Parker manufactures, designs and sells, vintage-inspired sunglasses and eyeglasses. They are a national company based in New York, New York. It is estimated that the company has about 1600 employees and has stores nationwide.  The company is currently using the following social media platforms: Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and youtube.  As of September 5, 2021, at 11:30pm they posted something n facebook 14 hours ago.  They post daily on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram around 9:00 am every day. All platforms have the same post, and the number of followers varies based on the platform. Facebook has 764,723 followers, Twitter has 82.9k followers, and Instagram has 557k followers.  Their Youtube Channel is different. they last posted six days ago.
